Basically if i create a fire particle and it collides with my pawn can i use popcornFX's editor to trigger damage to my pawn BP?

Yes it is possible,
if you want to trigger an event in your pawn's BP, you can broadcast a Particle Event (see 'OnCollide' Event) from the PopcornFX's editor. Then, using an Event Listener in your BP, you will be able to trigger a custom delegate in the BP. Inside your delegate's scope, you will be able to recover any particle field that was previously registered. (the amount of damage you want to apply to your pawn for instance)
